Americans visit Netherlands

August 30th 2013 MDT

This link provides a brief tour along with American city planners of The Netherlands bike facilities and benefits.  It's instructional because it speaks directly to changing cultures toward a healthier lifestyle, I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22XM8-YTC98-paul-- Paul C. FW: Earth Policy Release -- U.S. Bike-Sharing Fleet More than Doubles in 2013

August 29th 2013 MDT

I have also been in touch with the company B-cycles and received a lot of positive feedback about the possibility of getting something like this started as a collaborative effort – Aggie Blue Bikes at the University and Logan City. Seems like it could be a really good fit! *From:* Russ Holley [mailto:russ.holley@PROTECTED] *Sent:* Thursday, August 29, 2013 10:04 AM *To:* Stephanie Tomlin *Cc:* BPAC ListServ *Subject:* Re: [BPAC] FW: Earth Policy Release -- U.S. Bike-Sharing Fleet More than Doubles in 2013 Great infor ...Continue Reading

FW: Earth Policy Release -- U.S. Bike-Sharing Fleet More than Doubles in 2013

August 29th 2013 MDT

Great information! Yes, it would be nice to beat Provo, Orem and Ogden to the punch and get our bike share program started first. I have talked to Ben from Salt Lake City and he would be willing to come up and talk to the group and go over the details of the incredibly successful Green Bike Program they have started up down there. RE: Road Respect Grant Award

August 28th 2013 MDT

Stephanie, I think the use of the funds is pretty open. My sense is they basically just want to "kickstart" the process. Some of items listed are things we have already done are started. Certainly we could go beyond. The tasks they have outlined as part of "becoming a road respect community" http://roadrespect.utah.gov/partners.php is pretty good in my opinion.  I propose that we use this as our road map. We will discuss how to tackle some of these items at our next BPAC ...Continue Reading

Great! BPAC's role in this is to provide the information for the bullets you listed below? Should we break this up to get the information you will need? Is the money available to enact some of those bullets?  Thanks, ST *From:* Jeff Gilbert [Jeff.Gilbert@PROTECTED] *Sent:* Tuesday, August 27, 2013 3:50 PM *To:* BPAC ListServ *Subject:* [BPAC] Road Respect Grant Award BPAC Folks,   The Utah Department of Health’s Cancer Control Program has awarded the CMPO a $3,000 grant (see attached) to assist comm ...Continue Reading
