APA UT SPRING CONFERENCE 2014
New Perspectives. Better Results.
If we keep doing things the same way we are sure to get
the same results. The 2014 Utah APA Spring Conference will challenge long-held planning assumptions and analyze
important planning issues from new perspectives. This will help
planners make better decisions that improve quality of life in our
communities.
An entire track at the conference is devoted to transportation issues. How do traditional
planning assumptions influence current transportation policy? And how can new
perspectives on transportation result in healthier and more livable cities?
Transportation experts from around the country will answer these questions: Carlos Braceras (Executive Director, UDOT), Dr. Peter

Another conference track will examine the planner's
influence in promoting quality of life and livability in small and rural
communities. How can planners build effective partnerships with federal land
managers? How can design standards work for small and rural communities? What
do planners need to know about water resources? How can rural communities
benefit from broadband connectivity?
A third track will offer planning
commissioners and new planners valuable foundation knowledge about
Utah planning law, planning fundamentals, and decision making processes.
