Envision Utah
is seeking an innovative and highly-motivated associate planner to join the
organization as it continues work on a statewide visioning effort, ongoing
capacity building work with other regions, and several new initiatives.
Envision Utah

communities that are beautiful, prosperous, healthy and neighborly for current
and future residents.
Associate planner candidates require knowledge of regional
visioning and planning. Associate planners become highly proficient in core
Envision Utah
functions and manage processes and projects with increasing levels of
responsibility. The organization offers a collaborative working environment, with opportunity for both leadership development and
mentorship, and emphasis on continued learning and creativity.
At this time, Envision Utah is seeking associate planner candidates
that demonstrate solid ability to manage projects and possess excellent
interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with stakeholders and the
public. Excellent written and graphic communication skills are also highly
desired.
Typical Functions/Skills
- Managing visioning task
forces, projects and/or other planning initiatives
- Meeting participation,
assistance, and facilitation
- Conducting a range of
technical project tasks, including research; data analysis; preparation of
maps and exhibits; preparation of materials for meetings, community
events, and reports; and professional writing
- Using various computer
software programs, such as Microsoft Office, Internet applications, and
software related to specific project needs (i.e. GIS, Adobe products)
Preferred Qualifications
The associate planner position generally requires a
master’s degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy, or
related area of study in addition to a minimum of three years of experience in
the planning profession; or a bachelor’s degree and five years of
professional planning experience.

requires advanced professional planning experience and expert knowledge of
regional visioning and planning. The organization offers a collaborative
working environment, with opportunity for both leadership development and
mentorship, and emphasis on continued learning and creativity.
At
this time, Envision Utah
is seeking lead planner candidates that demonstrate a track record marked by
sound project management abilities and excellent interpersonal skills for
facilitating relationships with stakeholders and the public. Excellent written
and graphic communication skills are also highly desired.
