August BPAC Meeting/New Trail Planner

July 28th 2020

Hi BPAC! For those of you that I haven't met yet, my name is Carly Lansche. I'm stepping into Dayton Crites old shoes as Cache County's trails and active transportation lead. I'm writing to let you all know that we will be resuming BPAC meetings on _Wednesday, __August_ _12th at noon._ To accommodate social distancing, I would like to host the August meeting outdoors at the picnic tables between the County building and the Historic Council building. This location should allow for comf ...Continue Reading

Bike to Work Week

May 1st 2020

Hi all, I see that National Bike to Work Week/Month/Day has been moved to Sept. 2020.  I suggest we follow suit with Sept. 21-27 in our local Bike to Work/School Week.  This may actually be advantageous to us, depending on what is happening with USU and local K-12 schools at that time (a.k.a., COVID world).I personally am scheduled to be out of town that week, but will be glad to help set things up.  Plus, everything rearranges on a regular basis these days, so maybe my meet ...Continue Reading

This is a great idea, Jack.  Make it a family scavenger hunt thing on bikes!  -paulOn Mon, Apr 13, 2020 at 9:31 PM Jack Greene via BPAC ListServ <bpac@PROTECTED> wrote: __ From: jackisgreene@PROTECTED I'm seeing more bike activity than ever before- especially families with kids. I'm seeing more bike activity than ever before- especially families with kids. It's quite remarkable how corona has worked its magic on changing many of our habits and activities in a very healthy manner. Perhaps adding a "family" category by having them send in a family photo of them biking together and a short paragraph or map showing where they've biked and how frequently since the corona restrictions went into effect.   On Monday, April 13, 2020, 12:43:15 PM PDT, Alexi Lamm ...Continue Reading

New Bike Week plan

April 13th 2020

Hi BPAC, I hope this email finds you well. We will not be meeting in person on April 22. However, I’ve been in contact with Keegan, Meg, and Brad about ideas for Bike to School & Work Week. Although it is not the right time to plan in-person event, we still have a chance to promote riding a bicycle individually for health and transportation.   *EVENT:* Meg and the Aggie Blue Bikes team are planning a solo alley cat ride over bike week that would be open to the public, perhaps a lonely cat. The ride would be a ...Continue Reading

BTSWW update

March 18th 2020

Hi BPAC, So much has changed since we met last week! I hope this email finds you well and still on your social distancing vehicle.   The CDC has recommended no gatherings of 50 or more people for eight weeks. BTSWW is past that timeframe…by just one week, so Karlie and I talked about planning the week as a low-contact campaign focused on bicycles as a way to exercise and commute while maintaining social distance. Since the situation is evolving quickly, *we’ll delay our BPAC April meeting to Wednesday, April 22 a ...Continue Reading
