POSITION: Planning Technician/Administrative Assistant
STATUS: Part-Time (29 hours/week)
SALARY: Hourly (Starting: $17.00-$19.00); Based on Experience
CLOSE DATE: Open Until Filled-first review July 2, 2020
The City of North Salt Lake Community Development Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service oriented individual for the position of Planning Technician/Administrative Assistant.
Individuals in this position are responsible for assignments that will include but are not limited to, coordinating and managing the receipt of land use and building permit applications, providing zoning information to the public, reviewing applications for
zoning compliance, and other projects as assigned. Work is to be carried out with a reasonable degree of independent action and judgment in required time frames. The incumbent in this position will interact with the public often, informing the general public
of planning regulations and procedure, and issuing permits.
Minimum qualifications:
A.
Completion of two years college coursework in a technical, liberal arts, or science program that included urban and regional planning, environmental
studies, or related social sciences;
OR
B.
One (1) year of administrative or technical experience in an environmental, planning, mapping, architectural, civil engineering, or related agency or
organization;
OR
C.
Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Level and starting salary will depend upon the successful candidate's education, knowledge, training, and experience.
