Noah, here is some information on this topic.
The household composition for multi-family is housing is very similar whether you are on/off the Wasatch Front.
Single-family households along the Wasatch Front, however, tend to have more people per household than those living off the Front. Interestingly, there's about the same proportion of children in these households whether one lives on/off the Front; meaning there are fewer people per household outside the Wasatch Front and the number of children in the household decreases proportionally (e.g. lower household size isn't due to households not having kids). That said, there is a slight shift toward an older population (more seniors) off the Wasatch Front. (I did a quick check, this trend exists whether or not Washington County is included.)
