Applications due this Friday, October 18!

The Community Planning Assistance for Wildfire program is now accepting applications for 2020.

Selected communities receive free, customized technical consulting services and training over the course of one year or more from CPAW’s team of professional land use planners, foresters, risk modelers, and researchers.

Services may include land use planning recommendations for improved wildfire risk reduction in ordinances, development codes, design standards, etc.; hazard assessments; custom research; and training. Participation in CPAW is voluntary and the local jurisdiction retains authority for implementation.

Eligible jurisdictions include towns, cities, counties, or tribal communities with authority over local land use and zoning decisions. Applications should be jointly submitted by the community's planning and fire departments.
