This position is responsible for a wide range of both development review and long-range planning projects.

Responsible for the review and analysis of more detailed land development applications including the review and related follow-up work related to Building Permit review and Certificate of Occupancy inspections; prepares staff analysis of and recommendations relating to land development requests; prepares written, verbal and PowerPoint presentations of findings to Planning Commission and Town Council; performs other current development review functions as assigned. Provide assistance and information to business organizations, applicants, and the general public. This position will have a great deal of public contact including answering questions in person and over the telephone.
 
This position performs a wide range of diverse long range planning projects including, but not limited to: master plans; transportation planning; trail and open space projects; feasibility studies; redevelopment and enhancement projects; consultant agreements; citizen participation activities; and grant development.
 
This position is also responsible for reviewing and recommending revisions to land-use codes and related ordinances and development review projects.
 
This position prepares technical reports, presentations, and recommendations to the elected and appointed officials, task forces, and community groups.
 
This position may from time to time work with the Parker Authority for Reinvestment (Urban Renewal Authority) staff and consultants on projects related to the goals of the Parker Authority for Reinvestment.

 

 Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

 Essential Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Planning, Geography, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or related field required. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in local or regional planning with direct experience in current development reviews and long-range planning is required. A Master's Degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience. Current Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. A combination of education and experience to provide for the necessary knowledge skills and abilities may be considered. The ability to successfully complete a background check including but not limited to criminal history search is required.
 



 
 

 Additional Information:

Work hours typically Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening meetings will be required.
