EMPLOYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Wasatch County Planning Office is expanding and seeking qualified applicants to fill up to two fulltime career-path Planner positions. Wasatch County is situated in a rural mountain valley on the back of the Wasatch Mountain range approximately 15 miles south
of Park City and less than an hour drive to Salt Lake City and the Provo Orem metropolitan area. The County is surrounded by State and Federal lands and provides abundant recreational opportunities including skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and water
sports. Due to the county’s proximity to the Wasatch Front, the recreational opportunities, and the beauty of the area, the county is experiencing rapid growth in all types of development from traditional residential subdivisions to mixed use and high-end
resort development.
Senior Planner (Grade R $94,910 - $102,211). This position is responsible to perform complex planning and land use administrative duties with limited supervision. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of
progressively responsible work experience performing civic planning duties. Specific experience with development in resort areas and/or mountainous areas is preferred. Current AICP certification, or the ability to obtain AICP certification within 6 months
of employment is required.
Planner II (Grade O $38.31 - $41.26). This position is responsible to perform general planning and land use administrative duties with limited supervision. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of progressively
responsible work experience. The position is a career-path position with the opportunity to advance to a Senior Planner upon meeting certain qualifications. AICP preferred, but not required.
Planner I (Grade L $34.10 - $36.72). This position is responsible to perform entry-level planning and land use administrative duties with general supervision. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of either one (1) year
of work experience performing civic planning duties or a completed Master’s degree. The position is a career-path position with the opportunity to advance to a Planner II upon meeting certain qualifications.
Planning Technician (Grade J $28.64 - $30.84). This position is responsible to perform entry-level code enforcement and land use administration functions with direct supervision. The position requires a high school diploma and one (1) year higher education/specialized
training or work experience in a related field. The position is a career-path position with the opportunity to advance to a Planner I upon meeting certain qualifications.
