Utah Planners,

I wanted to share an exciting opportunity that could offer valuable insights and solutions for our community's challenges.

ULI Utah is currently accepting applications for Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs). The purpose of a TAP is to assist communities in solving complex real estate and land use issues such as affordable housing, economic development, or enhancing walkability.

ULI Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs) are tailor-made to address diverse urban and rural development challenges. Here are some key areas where ULI TAPs can offer expert advice:

  • Urban Revitalization: Strategies to revitalize distressed urban areas, including infrastructure improvements and public space enhancement.
  • Land Use Planning: Guidance on land use policies, zoning regulations, and comprehensive planning for sustainable development.
  • Community Development: Assistance in creating vibrant neighborhoods, affordable housing opportunities, and economic development initiatives.
  • Real Estate Development: Insights on market trends, feasibility assessments, and investment strategies.
  • Transit-Oriented Development: Strategies to integrate transit infrastructure with land use planning and enhance public transportation access.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Advising on sustainable design, green building practices, and resilience strategies.
  • Public-Private Partnerships: Facilitating collaboration to leverage resources and achieve shared community goals.
  • Cultural and Heritage Preservation: Guidance on preserving cultural heritage assets and promoting community identity.

These TAPs involve immersive, onsite engagements with volunteer panelists from ULI who bring multi-disciplinary expertise to address your specific challenges.

I am thrilled to share that ULI Utah has teamed up with Salt Lake County Regional Development on a matching grant initiative. This collaboration will fund three Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) studies in strategically chosen sites across three Salt Lake County communities. This presents an exceptional opportunity to engage in the program at a significantly reduced cost.

More information about the TAP process can be found HERE.

If this opportunity resonates with you and you'd like to explore it further, please let me know. ULI Utah is happy to discuss this in more detail.

Thank you for considering this opportunity and I look forward to your thoughts.
