Hello,

Spanish Fork City is reviewing their street tree management standards and is looking for standards from other cities on the following:

  • Who is responsible for tree installation, maintenance, and replacement in park strips for new developments - the City, developers, contractors, property owners, other?

  • Does your city have a program to assist developers and property owners with tree installation in park strips (such as the developer can opt to pay a fee to the city for tree purchase and installation)?

  • Does your city budget for replacement or installation of trees in older developments?

  • What is the average cost or charge per tree installation in your city?

  • Does your city have a city arborist or city forester position?

Any feedback and/or code references would be helpful and appreciated.  Please pass this message along to those who can best provide responses.

Thank you!
