Fee-In-Lieu of Open Space

Good Morning Planning Colleagues,

As part of a code update for the Clearfield Downtown, we are looking to add to our fee schedule a method for calculating a fee in lieu of civic open space provided in a project. Similar to other FBC's the Clearfield FBC will require the construction of a civic open space if a project is over a certain size, but if it is under that size then they will be allowed to pay the fee in lieu of the open space.

With the help of Susie at FFKR I have been able to see how this is done in Eagle Mountain. I think we will use a per unit calculation, but I need to know how much each unit should be assessed.

Do any of the other communities do something similar to this, and if so, how is the per unit fee calculated and for how much? Thank you, Brad McIlrath Senior Planner Clearfield City
