Hi Judi (and Utah Planners) –
Would you please post the following question to the APA Utah listserv?
“Have any communities conducted a general plan/comprehensive plan update and zoning code rewrite in immediate succession with the same consulting firm under one contract and scope of work? If so, can you share the challenges, successes,
and/or lessons learned from your community’s experience with that approach? In effect, I am curious to see if and how other communities are attempting to close the gap between (non-binding, advisory, long-range) planning goals and (statutory, current)
development regulations. If you have other thoughts on strategies or tools for compressing these critical efforts, please feel free to share those as well.”
Thanks,
