PDC Planning Intern (08108N)

Position begins August 27, 2018.

The Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) Department is seeking an intern to assist the Planning Team with a variety of planning, research and documentation tasks. Under general supervision, the intern may be tasked with preparing presentations, performing fieldwork, helping prepare maps and other graphics for campus planning studies, general research, general correspondence and scheduling for various Planning Team needs, organizing and filing architectural documents and similar tasks.

COMPENSATION: $10.00 to $12.00/hour

WORK SCHEDULE: Position begins August 27, 2018.

Maximum 19 hrs/week (total of all on-campus employment). Schedule is flexible based on intern’s availability but once a schedule is established the intern will be expected to work the same days and hours each week.

QUALIFICATIONS:              

1. University of Utah enrolled CA+P Junior, Senior or Graduate students only
2. Basic understanding of urban design and urban planning principles
3. Ability to think, organize and communicate (verbal and written) clearly
4. Ability to effectively use MS Office Suite programs
5. Ability to effectively use ArcMap software is strongly preferred
6. Basic ability to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator programs is preferred
7. Strong research skills preferred
