Hello fellow land use members,
Thank you for attending the APA/ULCT legislative update webinar yesterday. In that training we shared information about HB 98 Local Government Building Regulation Amendments, which makes changes on plan reviews, inspections, and design elements. After we concluded, we received word that Governor Cox vetoed HB 98. We have attached his veto letter, which states that he supports the bill but issued a veto in response to concerns raised by FEMA and the National Flood Insurance Program. His letter further clarifies that the state is working with those groups to address disaster recovery provisions in the bill. The Governor intends to bring the bill back in a May special session and support it with the necessary changes. Our members took a neutral position on HB 98 during session.
Please contact Victoria Ashby, Director of Government Relations (vashby@PROTECTED) or Meg Ryan, Senior Land Use Manager (mryan@PROTECTED).
