You should check with Stephanie Duer at Salt Lake City Public Utilities and with the Jordan River Water Conservancy District.  Both have worked long and hard to encourage conservation and responsible water use.  Jan

Subject: [UAPA] Water and Land Use

Hello APA UT,
I'm trying to find some real-world examples of how cities in Utah have dealt with water conservation and supply in their land use ordinances or general plan as well as evidence of how these policies or plans have impacted water use in your jurisdiction.

Could you please let me know if you have:
  • an ordinances you consider particularly effective or forward thinking with regards to water, water supply, or water conservation?
  • any evidence that demonstrates the correlation between land use policies and water use in your jurisdiction?
Thanks!
