CMPO BPAC new website

Invitation for Market Opening

Hi Everyone,<br>We have been invited to have a table at the opening of the gardener's market on May 12th.� Sounds like a great way to kick off bike to work week.� I told them that I thought we would be interested, but Finn and I can't man the table since we have our own table at the market.� Tom, would you be able to set up the table, and others, can I get some people to volunteer to man the table from 9:00-1:00 (Tom, if you can't do it, Finn and can, we just need to figure out a time to pick up the stuff).<br> Also, do we have time to get a new BPAC banner made?� Might be nice to have for both this event and bike to work week!<br>Thanks! <br>Erin<br clear="all"><br>-- <br>Erin Brewer<br>Commensalist Gardens CSA<br><br>

Hi Everyone,<br><br>I wanted to share some of what we talked about at last nights meeting...� <br><br>1. Jeff reported on the progress of the Bike Plan.� It sounds like things are going to be slow going with the county because they have so much on their plate right now, but we did discuss collaborating with the landscape architecture department (is this the right dept?) at USU to help develop some ideas.� Dayton, a grad student in the department said he would be willing to begin the discussion with the department to see if they could take on some projects in the fall.� After looking through the feedback on our Bicycle Freindly Community Application, I'd like to suggest that we see if they could do some or all of the following:<br> <ul><li>Develop Safe Routes to local schools and identify short term projects that would enhance the safety of these routes (see <a href="http://www.saferoutesinfo.org">www.saferoutesinfo.org</a> for more info)<br></li><li> Develop local bike maps that address diverse needs and skill levels and identify projects needed to enhance these routes<br></li><li>Develop a series of short themed loop rides around the community and identify projects that would enhance these loops</li> <li>Explore ways to enhance pedestrian/bicycle safety in south end of Logan to make this area easily accessible to pedestrians and bicycles</li><li>Address Blvd (could someone fill me in on this, I got the gist that there was an ongoing issue here, but not clear on what it is.</li> </ul>(Dayton, could you contact <a href="mailto:Jeff-Jeff.Gilbert@cachecounty.org">Jeff-Jeff.Gilbert@cachecounty.org</a> and coordinate efforts with your department so that we have something in the hopper for fall?)<br><br> 2. Some of the upcoming events were discussed:<br><ul><li>Earth Day Fair-Tom will set up at 11:00 (tote at Jeff's office), Erin and Finn will take over table from 11-2 and Paul will come from 2-4.� In addition to handing out materials, we will take names of those interested in BPAC and volunteering at BPAC activities.</li> <li>Bike to Work Week-Paul will organize this...please contact him if you can help man the booth.� Paul mentioned changing the time to (I think) 7:30-9:30...is this right Paul?</li><li>Blue Bike Festival-Jeff discussed combining this activity with the Road Respect Rally.� He will check with Aggie Blue Bikes about this, and also check into the possibility of hosting the Road Respect Rally at the courthouse and making it a full day event.</li> </ul>4. We discussed the need to have a representative from Aggie Blue Bike and the LPD attend the meetings.� I will contact the LPD to encourage them to send a representative.� Jeff, when you talk to the folks at Aggie Blue Bikes about the festival, can you find out who the rep is?� Maybe we can make a call or send a personal email to both the ABB and the LPD reps prior to BPAC meetings to encourage them to come?<br> <br>5. We were excited that flags are going up.� Thanks to Mark Nielson for his taking this on! There were concerns that there might not be enough flags at each station.� Might need to look into making flags or doing fund raising to purchase additional flags.<br> <br>6.
