Appropriate Light Industrial / Makerspace Uses for Mixed-Use Development

Hello Planners,

We are interested in examples of land use regulations that more broadly define mixed-use development - to include smaller-scale light industrial uses, maker spaces and clean tech manufacturing.  These uses might include flexible e-commerce fulfilment with retail front spaces, or creative spaces for smaller-scale product development and manufacturing.  Uses should be compatible and synergistic with retail, office and residential uses that are more commonly associated with a walkable mixed-use neighborhood.  Please provide any instate and/or out-of-state references that you may be familiar with.

Thank you!
