Teton County is a year-round resort community, located in the northwestern corner of Wyoming. It serves as the southern gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and is home to three world class ski resorts. Approximately 97% of the land within the county is held in public ownership – National Park, National Elk Refuge, and National Forest.

This position is responsible for reviewing complex development applications, conducting comprehensive analysis of development through the lens of the Land Development Regulations and Comprehensive Plan, collaborating with stakeholders, writing technical reports, and presenting analysis and review to the public and elected officials. Our ideal candidate is a self-directed team-player, problem-solver, detail oriented, and able to communicate technical material in both written and verbal form to a variety of individuals.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Managing current planning projects, assuring all projects recommended for approval comply with all Land Development Regulations, goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan, and other policies of the County.
· Performs technical and professional planning activities; uses knowledge of planning and growth management theory, public policy, and land use law to complete and manage special projects.
· Assists with long-range planning in researching and developing amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or related field; AND three years of experience with community development and planning programs; OR Master’s Degree in related field and two years’ experience in community development and planning programs; OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Master’s Degree is desirable.

Hiring Range: $61,175 - $64,272
