The College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah invite you to attend our "Year of Resilience" event series this year. The series will feature guest speakers, expert panels and documentary screenings focused on disaster risk, recovery and mitigation. We hope to see planners well-represented at these events given the importance of this field to disaster mitigation and recovery.

This Thursday (9/20, @ 5 PM), please join us for a talk by Dr. Emily Kleber, a Hazards Geologist with the Utah Geological Survey, who will speak about the geological and ecological hazards we face here in the Wasatch region.

Emily Kleber is a hazards geologist specializing in earthquakes. She has a B.S. in geology from University of California, Davis, and a M.S. in geology from Arizona State University. Emily started working for the Utah Geological Survey in 2016 and since then has been researching paleo-earthquakes in Utah and helping people understand the geologic hazards that Utah faces, especially on the Wasatch Front.

The lecture will be held in Room 228 of the Architecture Building in the U of U campus. Directions to the building are here: http://bit.ly/2cggtgD

Visitor Parking is available in the lot next to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts building.
