Recently we have noticed an increase in property owners and tenants allowing people to “camp” on private property.
The folks that are camping could be identified as homeless.
The “camping” is usually temporary, but other than codes specific to your City is there anything else out there that may be helpful?
If you do regulate camping I would be interested to see your code.
·
What are the legal parameters regarding homeless camps?
·
Is there anything illegal about the act of camping?
·
Other nefarious activity would of course be enforced, but can you prohibit a person from sleeping outside on private property?
·
Is it a zoning question (i.e. does the zoning on the property have anything to do with allowing or disallowing a homeless person to camp)?
·
Can a tenant give permission for a person to camp?
Thanks in advance.
