The 200 East Environmental Assessment (EA) has officially concluded. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) recently completed its review of the EA and issued formal approval for Logan City to proceed with right-of-way acquisition, design, and construction of proposed improvements along 200 East between Center Street and 300 South in Logan.
FHWA’s approval comes in the form of a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), a decision document outlining the selected alternative. The FONSI includes a summary of possible impacts from the implementation of the selected alternative, along with proposed mitigation measures to offset those impacts. All public comments received during the environmental study are addressed in the document.
The complete FONSI is available for public review at Logan City Hall (290 North 100 West) and on the Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization’s website: www.cachempo.org/200eastlogan. Right-of-way acquisition can begin by early summer with all acquisitions complete by the end of 2012. Final project design can begin by early spring and construction could begin as soon as 2013. Improvements will likely be phased as funds are available.
